*Calculate Your ShreddingWirral waste company B&M Waste Services has provided children’s charity Stick ‘n’ Step with a huge boost, sponsoring its Wirral Coastal Walk team with a donation of £2,000. Over 200 people are walking to fundraise for the charity at the annual event, taking place this year on Sunday 24 June.
Stick ‘n’ Step offers support services to children with cerebral palsy and their families. The charity provides the children with totally free of charge conductive education sessions, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live independent lives. Over 80 children, from across the region, attend these sessions weekly or twice weekly at the charity’s Wallasey and Runcorn centres.
Neil Curtis, Managing Director at B&M Waste Services said: “We are so pleased to get further involved with this great charity over the Wirral Coastal Walk. It is an extraordinary event that raises money for so many good causes. Local people really get behind it and it was amazing to see so many people putting their best foot forward to take part. We would like to say thank you to all those who have committed to taking part in the walk and wish them all the best of luck in completing it.”
Amy Couture, Chief Executive, Stick ‘n’ Step, said: “We are really appreciative of B&M Waste Services’ unstinting support. It costs £4,500 to cover the cost of one child accessing our services for a year and we need to raise over £500,000 annually to keep our doors open. We are very grateful for the support of local businesses like B&M Waste Services who do so much to make our work possible.”
Wirral Coastal Walk, organised by the Rotary Club of North Wirral, covers 15 miles of coastal path, between Seacombe Ferry and Wirral Country Park Visitor Centre at Thurstaston. Options of shorter distances are available with alternative completion points after four and ten miles. To take part in the 2018 Wirral Coastal Walk to raise money for Stick ‘n’ Step or find out more about other fundraising opportunities for the charity, please contact Matt Meaney on 0151 638 0888 or email matt@sticknstep.org.
