Our commercial ethos is to divert as much material away from landfill as possible and to maximise the value of the materials collected without placing undue levels of resource commitment on our customers.
We were one of the first independent waste management companies to build our own Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). We now operate our own MRF at Bromborough, Wirral and Trafford Park, Manchester and work with like minded parties throughout the UK to offer our customers strong recovery.
B&M can provide rebates for commodities that do not require reprocessing after collection, for example baled cardboard or plastic. The rebates are given in line with the letsrecycle.com monthly price index for that specific grade of material.
To assess the viability of this service for our customers we provide a site survey that considers a number of factors, including:
-how much space is available to install the equipment and store bales until collection
– is there access to an appropriate power supply
– will the amount of bales generated cover the rental cost of a baler and its consumables (baling wire and pallets)
– does the site have the available manpower to operate it effectively
Where possible our clients can offset waste management collection and disposal costs through the revenue gained from the commodities which are 100% recycled.
On Site Segregation
As part of our ongoing drive to achieve 100% diversion, we encourage customers to segregate recyclates into separate containers for collection. This is to help our customers achieve the best possible recycling/recovery rates.
Our clients are committed to reducing their impact on the environment, and we are constantly searching for new and innovative ways to help them. B&M Waste Services is committed to recovering as much waste as possible by diversion from landfill.
The data in our environmental reports is verified by Carbon Footprint Ltd and is a direct appreciation of waste being diverted from landfill. We represent the information by number of trees and car miles that are saved through carbon offsetting, to make it easy to understand.
