The majority of businesses produce hazardous waste and it is crucial to ensure that this is disposed of safely and compliantly. Hazardous waste, if mismanaged, can cause a great deal of harm to human health and the environment: the potential costs of disposing of hazardous materials could also become greater over time. Under The Hazardous Waste Regulations (2005), the penalties for not managing your waste correctly include heavy fines and imprisonment. So, future-proof your business and don’t allow yourself to be subject to fires, fines or legal proceedings.
B&M Waste Services provide a flexible, fast service that can help remove the worry out of compliant recycling and disposal of your hazardous waste, including but not limited to:
Fluorescent tubes are mainly strip lighting used in many office buildings: because they contain mercury, they are classed as hazardous waste. B&M Waste Services offer a Lamp Safe Recycling Package for the storage, collection and disposal of fluorescent tubes.
Items such as Fridges, Air Conditioning Units, Laptops, Televisions and Computer Monitors are all classed as hazardous waste so should be disposed of separately to non-hazardous WEEE. We offer a collection service that focuses on reuse and recycling to minimise the negative environmental impact these hazardous items could have.
B&M operate a simple service where Battery Boxes are provided for customers to dispose of AA, AAA, C, D, button, laptop and mobile phone batteries. Once collected, the contents are then graded and recycled responsibly.
Over 45 years combined experience in hazardous waste mean we make sure you stay compliant with all current legislation.

B&M Waste Services Haz Box provides a solution to all businesses nationwide who have any small hazardous waste on a regular basis, such as batteries, cleaning products, printer toners, aerosols, paint, oils, glue and bulbs. Under the Hazardous Waste Regulations, it stipulates that all companies producing hazardous waste must separate this from non-hazardous waste, suitably store it and then dispose of it with a licensed waste carrier. This means that any hazardous waste MUST NOT be placed in general waste containers, but MUST be kept separate.
The Environment Agency and the courts take all breaches very seriously and recently fined a food processing company in Wiltshire £1,500 for placing fluorescent tubes in a general waste skip.
Especially suited to the office environment, the B&M Haz Box provides assurance of environmental compliance. B&M organise all paper work, removing the worry from customers should the EA do a spot check, which they beginning to do more and more.

He was polite, efficient and above all, very professional. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He had, a vast amount of waste to remove, but he undertook the job with such efficiency, that he must be thanked on behalf of Elite, for his fantastic work.” Elite Cleaning and Environmental Services
