*Calculate Your ShreddingOur Education and Innovation Centre is located in Bromborough, Wirral near to our company head office. We can accommodate up to 32 children per session from individual classes to school Eco Councils or other mixed age groups. Free visits are available to all schools, including customers and non-customers of B&M Waste Services.
Little Litter Pickers encourages children to develop an understanding the ways that they can reduce, reuse and recycle their waste, and the wider environmental impact that our actions today will have for decades to come.
Our KS1 and KS2 programmes cover key National Curriculum topics, including Maths, Science, English and Citizenship. Our sessions also encourage student’s moral, ethical and social awareness and responsibility.
As part of our session, we have put in place a three stage programme so that you can make the most of your visit.
Stage One: Before Your Visit
After confirming the date of your free school trip we will send you a pre-visit pack which will include arranging a litter pick that encourages the children to become aware of the amount and type of litter that they produce. In keeping with our aim to cover as many aspects of the National Curriculum as we can, this will link into KS1 and KS2 Mathematics criteria.
Stage Two: The Visit
On the day, your group will take part in a very interactive and informative session where they will learn all about reduce, reuse and recycling. They will complete a variety of activities which can be tailored to meet specific requirements. These will include waste sorting activities, putting into practice what they have learnt about reuse and our version of the ‘heads up’ game.
Stage Three: Post Visit
After your session we provide you with a post-visit pack which includes resources for a persuasive writing task to complement the KS1/2 National Curriculum.
