Here we have implemented recycling schemes, implemented a separate food waste collection and we even work with them to encourage students and staff to re-use items they no longer require via ‘environmental swap days’, and they now divert 100% of their waste away from landfill as it is all recycled.
We’ve worked to increase recycling levels to 100% through the introduction of a separate recycling collection, and use of RDF rather than landfill. We’ve also commenced a secure shredding service, to ensure all confidential information is securely destroyed and 100% recycled.

By segregating card and paper, glass, plastic, wood and metal, and utilising latest technologies to dispose of clinical and hazardous waste with as little impact on the environment as possible 5 Boroughs Partnership have now achieved a significant 94% recycling level, whilst also improving efficiency and costs of their waste management.
