Wirral Youth Zone, named by young people as ‘The Hive’, is a purpose-built facility for Wirral borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities. The Hive is located next to the new fire station on Exmouth St, in the centre of Birkenhead, Wirral and opened in 2017.
B&M Waste are proud to have been Founder Patrons of the Hive since it’s inception and we support this wonderful facility ongoing, even promoting it across Wirral on the side of our trucks to help raise awareness right across the region.
B&M are a family run business with roots deeply seeded across the Wirral. This much needed facility is a wonderful opportunity to support the youth of the community, who are the businesses leaders of the future.
B&M also encourage our staff to help where they can, providing mock interviews, and support for those looking at venturing into the world of work.
There’s also now a cluster of volunteers who work at the centre in their own time, including B&M’s very own Carol Gleave and Robyn Eccleston. Carol recently received the ‘Sam Curley Award for Volunteer of the Year’ for the second year!
