*Calculate Your ShreddingLocated in the North-West of England, Claire House is a charity close to our hearts here at B&M Waste Services. Claire House provide a home-from-home environment for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. Offering respite, end-of-life care and support for the entire family, the positive outlook that Claire House takes is truly inspirational and their specialist nursing team provides one-to-one care for the individuals staying there, as well as providing a Hospice to Home scheme.
Raising over £3000 on Just Giving plus additional money raised on the night totalling over £47,000, our very own Dave Curtis donned the lycra to raise money for Claire House in April 2018. Read all about it in our article Dave Curtis is Strictly Sensational at Claire House Fun
We have a long history of charity commitment and raising money for Claire House as it was founded on the Wirral where the B&M Waste Services head office is, we continue to support the charity through B&M staff taking part in fundraising events.
We raised £20,000 for Claire House as a team of six from B&M Waste Services, including company directors, successfully scaled Mount Kilimanjaro. And more recently for two years running we’ve had a team cycle from London to Paris to further fund raise for the charity. Read about the London to Paris Bike ride here
More recently, some representatives from B&M toured Claire House to see how donations are used to improve the facilities used by the visiting young people and their families. Catering to young people up to 23 years of age, this includes an 18+ den, an arts and crafts room, living areas and a sensory room. It is clear to see that each donation is being used to create the best, happiest experience for each individual to feel comfortable whilst receiving specialist care tailored to their requirements. Significantly, our team of Directors have taken part twice in the London to Paris Bike Ride which raised over £8000. See how they did it here
We have donated £5,000 to the Lloyd Brothers Mural Appeal. Dan, Sam
and Tom Lloyd suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and attend The Mosslands School, Wallasey, and Claire House for respite. The Mosslands School invited the boys to design a 492 square foot mural, which has been painted by the whole school community. Read our news story on the Lloyd Brothers Mural Appeal here.
In addition to this, we regularly volunteer when help is needed and some of the team recently spent a day at Claire House helping to paint and construct a shed that will be used to house donations – read about B&M volunteering at Claire House here.
