Claire House Transformation with a Little Help from B&M Waste

Categories: In The Community

Following on from a first round of green-fingered graft in April, last week saw another group of volunteers from Wirral-based B&M Waste support their nominated charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice, shifting an enormous 20 tonnes of soil in the beautiful gardens of their new site in West Derby, Liverpool.

The site when the team had finished…

The site before the team began…

The team of volunteers were assigned three key tasks – all just as gruelling, especially on what turned out to be a beautiful (albeit hot) summer’s day – shovelling soil, transferring the soil via wheelbarrow, and raking the deposited soil at its new location where it would be sowed with wild flower seeds.

Managing Director of B&M Waste – and one of the volunteers on the day, Neil Curtis, commented; “We’re so proud to support Claire House. The work they do is truly life-changing for the children they care for, as well as their parents and families. Coming here today and seeing first-hand the impact they’re having makes the hard graft so much easier.”

Another volunteer and Director, Graham Curtis added; “Having a second site here in Liverpool means that Claire House can support families even more. For those who would have to travel to the Wirral with a sick child in order to receive care, therapy, counselling or any of the other services that this wonderful charity offers, the journey can be difficult. Now, they have the same quality of service and resources but much closer to home.”
