*Calculate Your ShreddingManchester-based B&M Waste Services has partnered with leading storage solutions business, Stackright, to develop a bespoke waste management strategy that reduces costs and significantly minimises their carbon impact.
Previously, Stackright were paying for the waste collection of 11 FEL bins every week – the contents of which were being taken directly to landfill as there was no segregation of materials. The company identified that, not only was this a costly approach to waste management but, also, as a responsible and ethical business, they wanted to look for a more environmentally-friendly strategy.
The company began working with B&M Waste Services almost a year ago and the results have been dramatic; the weekly collection of FEL bins has been replaced with a state-of-the-art compactor, which has reduced collections to as little as once every two months. All waste is now segregated and Stackright receives a rebate from B&M Waste for cardboard.
In addition to the cost savings, the environmental impact of the new waste strategy has been notable; with the support of B&M Waste, Stackright is now successfully diverting 100% of waste from landfill. They’re also supporting their community and offsetting carbon emissions by planting trees – donated by B&M Waste – at Greenslate Community Farm.
