*Calculate Your ShreddingLeeds-based charity, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF), has received a £1,000 donation from fellow Leeds organisation, B&M Waste Services, to purchase 5 International Normalized Ratio INR machines.
The family-run waste management business chose CHSF as its nominated charity for the Leeds area 3 years ago and has supported the organisation ever since. The charity supports babies, children and adults who are affected by congenital heart disease (CHD), making their lives more comfortable and providing critical support when its needed most.
The INR machines support patients by allowing them to monitor their blood at home, looking out for signs of blood clotting and coagulation, which can lead to serious problems.
Ellie Brown, Fundraising Manager for CHSF said; “ INR kits make a positive difference to the lives of children with congenital heart disease and their families, and are hugely grateful to B&M Waste for this kind donation. It’s great to have the support of B&M Waste, they really go all out to assist us in the work that we do.”
David Curtis, Director for B&M Waste commented; “The work undertaken by CHSF is staggering and it truly impacts the lives of children going through extremely difficult times. We’re so pleased to be able to support the charity and know that this state-of-the-art equipment can help towards improving young lives.”
The £1,000 donation comes shortly after B&M Waste’s Annual Charity Truck Pull where teams competed to pull one of the waste company’s ‘big yellow trucks’ in the shortest amount of time to secure a donation to their nominated charity. The team supporting CHSF came in third place, winning £300 for the charity.
