*Calculate Your ShreddingIn it’s 24th year, the Liverpool to Chester bike ride for Claire House Children’s Hospice, B&M Waste Services’ nominated charity.
The event invites the general public including families, keen cyclists, charity fundraisers, and those individuals looking for an opportunity to achieve a personal challenge, all to take part.
The appeal of participating in the event is wide-ranging; fundraising, personal achievement and a simple desire to become fitter and healthier. This combination of goals contributed to the supportive atmosphere, which ensued.
A key feature of the event is the unique opportunity to cycle traffic-free through the Mersey Tunnel and this alone contributes to many participants returning year after year.
Team B&M consisted of Director Graham Curtis and Darren Smith, who participated in the 50 mile route commencing at the Birkenhead tunnel, on a loop through North Cheshire, with a quick stop at Countess of Chester Hospital before heading back.
Unfortunately Darren had some chain issues 3 miles in, but after a bit of mechanical work the team were on their way again.
Graham said “I’m proud of our achievement, and the £300 this raised for Claire House. It’s been B&M’s nominated charity for a number of years, and really is a special place. Everyone completing the ride gave it their all, and it’s great to see so many people out and about on bikes for such a good cause.
He continued “We are looking forward to 30th July when we will also be taking part in ‘Ride London’ where we hope to raise even more money for the charity. If anyone would like to support us we have a Just Giving page here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bagnall-morris-team4”
