RoHS Implemented (Legislation Update)
The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive 2002/95/EC has been transposed into UK Law as the “RoHS Regulations 2005”.


Essentially this piece of legislation restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment placed on the market after 1st July 2006. The six hazardous materials are:- Lead Cadmium Mercury Hexavalent Chromium Flame Retardants – Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)	This legislation is the responsibility of the producers of the electrical products and as such only for the information purposes only as RoHS and WEEE are terms often used together.
