What is my SIC code?
The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC 2003) classifies businesses and other operations by their activities. If you want to find your SIC Code, please search the list on the link above or ask for help from any member of our Hazardous Waste team.
Could I be exempt?
Certain types of premises are exempt from the requirement to register; these premises include shops, offices, agricultural premises, dental, veterinary or medical practices, schools, prisons and charity premises. However for these sites to qualify for the exemption, no more than 200Kg of hazardous waste can be produced at the site in any twelve month period. |
| Guidance from the EA equates 200Kg to the following: |
| |
| • |
500 Fluorescent Tubes or |
| • |
5 Small Domestic Fridges or |
If you feel your premises is exempt from registering, or would like to discuss the issue further please contact
